How to Add Testimonials & Reviews to Wix

You can add a testimonial widget to Wix using the Embed HTML element — no Wix app and no App Market subscription required. Approve testimonials, copy the snippet, and drop it onto any page in the Wix Editor or Wix Studio.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Approve your testimonials

Approve the testimonials you want to display in the LovedBy dashboard.

  2. 2

    Copy your embed snippet

Copy the script tag and testimonial-widget element from the Embed tab.

  3. 3

    Add an Embed HTML element

In the Wix Editor or Wix Studio, add Embed → Embed HTML (the "Embed a Widget" / custom-code element), paste the snippet, then resize and position the box on the page. The Embed tab generates this snippet already filled in with your project slug, so you can paste it as-is. The script loads once; the element renders your approved testimonials wherever you place it.

  4. 4

    Publish your site

Publish in Wix and the wall of love renders for visitors. The Embed element can look empty while editing, so always check the published site. New approvals appear automatically.

Do I need a Wix app to add testimonials?

No. Wix's built-in Embed HTML element is all you need to show your wall of love — paste the snippet, no Wix App Market install and no extra subscription. That keeps your site lighter than adding a dedicated reviews app.

Both the classic Wix Editor and Wix Studio support custom HTML embeds, so the same snippet works regardless of which builder you're on.

The widget looks empty in the Wix Editor — is that normal?

Yes. Wix often shows custom HTML embeds as a placeholder while you're editing and only runs them on the published site. Publish and view the live page to confirm the widget renders.

If it's still blank after publishing, make sure you sized the Embed box large enough — a tiny box can hide the content — and that the project slug in the snippet matches your project.

Where should you place testimonials on a Wix site?

Resize the Embed element to span your content width and place it below your hero, near a pricing or services block, or on a dedicated testimonials page. Because Wix uses absolute positioning in the classic Editor, leave vertical room below the element so the expanding widget doesn't overlap the next section.
