How to Add Testimonials to Squarespace

Squarespace lets you add custom HTML with a Code block, so embedding a testimonial wall is quick and needs no third-party extension. Approve testimonials, copy the snippet, and paste it into a Code block on any page.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Approve your testimonials

Approve the testimonials you want to display in the LovedBy dashboard.

  2. 2

    Copy your embed snippet

Copy the script tag and testimonial-widget element from the Embed tab.

  3. 3

    Add a Code block

Edit your Squarespace page, add a Code block where you want testimonials, and paste the snippet. Leave the block set to HTML mode and make sure "Display Source" is off so it renders instead of showing the code. The Embed tab generates this snippet already filled in with your project slug, so you can paste it as-is. The script loads once; the element renders your approved testimonials wherever you place it.

  4. 4

    Save and preview

Save the page and preview it on the live site. The widget renders your wall of love and stays in sync as you approve more testimonials.

Which Squarespace plans support custom code?

The Code block requires a Squarespace plan that allows custom code — typically the Business plan and above. If your plan includes a Code block, paste the snippet into one and the wall of love renders inline. Check Squarespace's current plan details, as the specifics change over time.

If your plan doesn't include the Code block, a Markdown block won't run scripts, so upgrading is the reliable path to embedding the widget.

The Code block shows the code instead of the widget — why?

If the widget doesn't appear, it's almost always one of three things:

First, the Code block's "Display Source" toggle is on, which prints the snippet as text — turn it off. Second, the block is set to Markdown rather than HTML — switch it to HTML. Third, you're looking at the editor rather than the saved, live page — save and preview the front end.

Where should you place testimonials on Squarespace?

Add the Code block below your hero section, near a pricing or services area, or as the centerpiece of a dedicated testimonials page. On store pages, place a focused wall near your product or checkout call-to-action so proof supports the purchase.
